With a lifelong passion for both music and teaching, I bring a unique blend of experience as a qualified piano teacher and registered primary teacher. I began learning piano at the age of five, completing formal music exams through the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College London, which laid the foundation for my deep love of music. This journey led me to complete a Bachelor of Music from the University of New England, where I explored both performance and music pedagogy.
Driven by a desire to inspire young minds, I went on to study a Master of Teaching, specialising in primary education. I am a fully registered teacher in Queensland, with experience working as both a classroom and specialist teacher in school settings.
As a piano teacher, I am passionate about nurturing creativity and developing strong foundational technique. I find great joy in guiding students from their very first note to confident, expressive performances. Watching their progress is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.
I have a special interest in both Classical and Modern music, with a particular love for Beethoven's sonatas. Outside of teaching, I enjoy listening to iconic '80s, '90s pop music and modern music, which continues to inspire my approach to making music fun and engaging for young learners.
As the Head of Mosaic Keys Piano School, I am committed to seeing the progress of every child who walks through our doors. Providing genuine value to each student and family is a core promise I stand by. Our school is more than just lessons, it's a place where musical journeys begin, grow, and thrive.
Winni Li - Piano Teacher
I began learning piano in my childhood, drawn to the comfort and imagination that music brought me. My early interest gradually developed into a commitment to formal training, which led me to pursue a five-year Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a piano major.
During these years, I received systematic training in piano performance, pedagogy, music theory, and classroom teaching, which laid a strong foundation for both my musicianship and my future teaching career.
My musical journey eventually brought me to Australia, where I completed a Master of Music and continued to deepen my understanding of performance and piano education. Each stage of my training has strengthened my belief that music is a language that grows with us, and it is a language I now enjoy sharing with my students.
I hold a Master of Music (M.Mus) completed in Australia. I have two years of experience teaching piano to students aged 4 to adults, in both one-on-one and group lesson settings.
In addition to my music qualifications, I am also studying education at the University of Queensland. This allows me to integrate child development, learning strategies, and behaviour support into my teaching practice. With this combination, I aim to provide structured, supportive, and engaging lessons tailored to each student's needs.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and adaptable to each student's needs.
For younger beginners, I use playful and structured activities to build musical curiosity and confidence. For older or more advanced students, I focus on musical expression, tone quality, technique, and personal interpretation.
I aim to create a calm, positive, and safe learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring, making mistakes, and developing at their own pace.
What I enjoy most is seeing students grow in confidence.
The moment a child proudly plays their first smooth melody or masters a new technique reminds me why teaching is meaningful.
I hope my students not only develop strong musical foundations, but also gain creativity, patience, focus, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
I have a deep appreciation for Beethoven and Liszt.
Beethoven's music inspires me with its strength, structure, and emotional depth, while Liszts works excite me with their brilliance, dramatic character, and expressive power.
My undergraduate graduation pieces included Beethoven's Eroica and Liszt's Hunting Piece, both of which played an important role in shaping my artistic
development.
These composers remind me that music can be powerful, imaginative, and deeply human, something I encourage my students to discover in their own playing.
Laura McCormick - Piano Teacher
At the age of 3, I started dance lessons and began taking piano lessons when I was 7. I really enjoyed the routine of practice and performance, especially my piano lessons. I have completed AMEB exams from Grade 2 through to my AMusA. In 2024, I attained my LMusAGM with the Australian Guild of Music. In 2023, I won the International Prominent Pianists Festival. The award for this was a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York the following year. I also was privileged to performed Scherzo from Litolff's Concerto Symphonique No.4 in D minor with the New York Chamber Players on this occasion. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Music (Classical Piano Performance) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in my second year, as well as a Diploma of Languages (Italian) at Griffith University.
I like giving students the opportunity to choose their repertoire because they are motivated to practise and play music they enjoy. It is important that I create a positive, encouraging environment in the piano lessons. I enjoy seeing the progress students make across the term and year. I hope students gain the technical skills required to play piano as well as gain a love of music which they carry with them throughout their life.
My favourite piece is "Allegro de Concierto" by Granados. I love the virtuosic and lively character. While the piece is technically demanding, it is a lot of fun to perform. I particularly love listening to Romantic period composers such as Schubert and Chopin. Their pieces are so emotional and passionate.
